Healing Comes in More Than One Way
Jan 15, 2026
When people hear the word “healing,” they usually think of one thing:
The cancer going away.
As a survivor, I understand that hope very well. I prayed those prayers too. I still do for many people.
But over the years, I’ve learned something gentle but important:
Healing doesn’t only happen in hospital rooms and scan reports.
Sometimes healing is a clean result.
Sometimes it’s a smaller tumor.
Sometimes it’s a treatment finally working.
Other times, it looks different:
A mind that finally sleeps after months of fear.
A heart that isn’t angry all the time anymore.
A family that starts talking honestly instead of pretending everything is fine.
I believe God is still moving, even when the outcome isn’t what we begged for.
Often, I’ve only noticed His work looking back:
“I didn’t break here.”
“I found someone who understood.”
“I wasn’t as alone as I felt.”
If you’re waiting on healing right now, I want you to know this:
You’re not being punished.
You’re not forgotten at the back of the line.
It’s okay to keep praying for physical healing. I do.
But while you wait, pay attention to the quieter kinds of healing too.
Those are real. They matter.
And they often arrive long before the scan result does.
