One Day at a Time with God

Jan 23, 2026

When I look back on my own cancer journey, one of the kindest lessons God gave me was this:

I don’t have to live the whole future at once.
I just have to walk today with Him.

Cancer tends to drag our minds ahead:

Before we notice, we’re trying to carry days, weeks, and months that haven’t even happened yet.

But God meets us in a different place: the present.

Strength for today.
Peace for today.

I began praying simpler prayers:

“Lord, help me with today.”
“Give me what I need for this hour.”
“Hold my mind steady right now.”

And slowly, I saw how faithful He was in small, specific ways:

The right doctor at the right time.
Calm when I expected panic.
Kindness from someone I didn’t even know was watching.

If you’re reading this and your heart is racing ahead into the “what ifs,” I’d like to gently invite you to pause.

Take a breath.
Place tomorrow back in God’s hands.
Ask Him for what you need just for today.

You don’t have to solve the whole road in one step.

You can walk it one day at a time with a God who isn’t going anywhere.
