The Good Days Still Count

Jan 16, 2026

One thing cancer taught me is that good days still exist, even in the middle of hard seasons.

They just don’t always look like the “old” good days.

Sometimes a good day is:

A cup of tea that actually stays warm.
Laughing at something silly on TV.
A phone call that ends with you feeling lighter instead of heavier.

These moments may seem small from the outside, but when you’re walking through cancer, they’re not small at all. They’re little flags that say, “Hope is still here.”

I believe God is kind in ways we often miss because we’re focused on the big outcomes.

We pray for healing (and we should), but along the way He also gives:

Strength when you thought you had none left.
Comfort that arrives through a friend’s message at the right time.
Peace that doesn’t match the situation, but somehow holds you together.

Today, if you can find even one thing that made you breathe easier or smile, let it count.

You don’t have to compare it to yesterday or worry about tomorrow.

Just say, “Thank You for this one good thing today.”

Hard days are real. But so are the good ones.

And noticing them doesn’t ignore your pain, it reminds your heart that light is still breaking through.
