What to say when someone shares

Mar 10, 2026

If someone tells you they have cancer, most people freeze.

Here are a few sentences that help—especially at work:

“Thank you for trusting me.”
“Do you want this kept private?”
“I don’t need details—how can I support you?”
“I can take one thing off your plate this week. What would help most?”
“I’m here, and I’m not going anywhere.”

You don’t need perfect words.

You need consistency.
